hiking boots illinois

so im going to go hiking, virtually the hard for me. Im tired of focusing on debt and poor credit, so I thought then that I got my Goin life all I must make a return trip and communicate with myself. im not im taking a car trip. I have essential importance, but not much money. I pack a good pair of hiking boots, a tent with a knife pins for blisters, the flash of a shower is solar powerd bag so you can take a hot shower water bottle clothing, but not much, wire cutter and power of will. Is there anything that I really need is food and what to look for and what I can do odd jobs in order. im taking a bus in Ohio, New York, then walk from Cali or Portland are not sure, however, is more or less going to be a forehand in Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming, Utah and Idaho, depending on where I decide to go. suggestions?
I know you want to be rude, but I recommend a prepaid cell phone. Just put a small amount of credit, and use it only when in an emergency – you can save your life. Route maps you intend to follow would be a good idea – Tourism / topographic maps are the best, but even a road map is better than no map. Remember to eat something every 10-20 miles (this will be about every 3-6 hours), even if only half of a chocolate bar. How will you have access to drinking water? If you plan to use untreated water sources, you'll want to team camp stove to boil water, iodine tablets, or one of those pens UV. Keep your energy in the above is crucial. I try to spend through the Rockies before the end of September, unless you are an experienced hiker with a lot of time cold gear. Good luck!
